Punting capital of the world?

Pattaya is a large beach city on Thailand’s eastern Gulf coast. It is about 100 kilometres (62 mi) southeast of Bangkok. It was a quiet fishing village as recently as the 1960s. It’s now lined with resort hotels, high-rise condos, shopping malls, cabaret bars and 24-hour clubs. Nearby is hillside Wat Phra Yai Temple features an 18m-tall golden Buddha. The area also features several designer golf courses, some with views of Pattaya Bay. It is popular for the escorts and night life on Walking Street and Soi 6. Other popular places are Soi Boomerang, Soi LK Metro and Treetown. One can get a taxi to Pattaya from Bangkok for about B1400 (£35).

It is relatively large and walking from the north to south can be 45 min+. The beach on the South side (looking SW) is called Jomtien.

Overview of venues

Pattaya has perhaps 5000 places where you can meet girls for sex. They roughly divide into these groups:

• Girl bars. These are bars where the staff is all girls, you buy them drinks, and take them for Short term (ST) or Long term (LT). You can chat and play pool or connect four for a while as long as you buy them drinks every so often. Some have rooms upstairs for ST (almost all on Soi 6 do). In Pattaya, many are outdoor bars.
• Go Go bars (a.k.a. Agogos). Like girl bars, but indoors and there is a pole dancing or exotic show. Some have 20 girls dancing. You can take girls to go go's - some like it. Every girl you see is an escort.
• Gentleman's Clubs. Tend to have a more laid back approach - somewhat older girls although still some lookers. Most GCs have curtained off areas for sex or BJ for few hundred baht (maybe 1200 for sex) with escorts of your choosing. In some, you can have a blowjob on the couch with no curtain if you are not shy. Most have a couple of ST rooms upstairs. Popular in daytime - as the rest of town is still quiet. And clearly if you have a LT girl with you, you won't take her in here. He claims there are 72 in Pattaya (out of 5,000 bars) - 10 of which are owned by him.
• Nightclubs. Full on, with locals, freelancers and bar girls who are done their shift. Some older punters avoid these. Notable on Walking Street are Marine(Classic, Spacious), Lucifer(Infernal, Dual Energy), Insomnia(Modern, Polished), 808(Upscale, Loud), Myst(Hip-Hop, Spectacular), Republic(Luxurious, Energetic), and The Pier(huge, high-energy).
• Beach road at night. Street walkers. Not sleazy - some are girls whose shift ended at bar or office.
• Massage shops and soapies. Most of the girls will have sex with you for extra. In a soapy, sex is expected, so included in the price.

Streets in parts of town

North

• Soi 6: A crazy street of bars and Gogos on the northern end. Some are owned by Nightwish group, NWG(e.g. Roxys, Eutopia, Playpen, Where Angels Play). NWG is a bit more pricy. Indies include Fire Bar and Red Point Bar (One report said to sit in sandcastle and watch redpoint girls). Smoke and Kisses. Almost like a FKK club in that you can take all girls to a room upstairs for ST sex. Only there are 1000 girls, rather than 50. Avoid the Japanese focused ones like Love Missile.
• Soi 7, 8: beer bars.

Central: These 6 streets are all near each other making up the central RLD.

• LK Metro Alley :Kink, Queen Club, Fcuk bar, Paradise, Lady Love, Angels and 25 more.
• Soi Buakhao. Lots of beer bars. Girls to pick up rather than GoGo where younger girls dance. Play Girlz. Red Hot and Blue (gents club)
• Soi Honey (aka Soi 12 between 2nd road and Buakhao): more beer bars.
• Soi Chaiyapoon (aka Soi Pothole). Bars: Maggie May(GC), Buzzin (GC), Excite, Beyond, Backyard, Green Lantern, MILF bar.
• Soi Boomerang. Heaven Above (gogo downstairs, more private upstairs), Club Fate (a GC), 10 more.
• Treetown/Soi 'Made in thailand' ending at Myth Night market. Lot's more girl bars. About 50.
• There are other beer bars all over the place e.g. Soi 13.1

Currently, Soi LK Metro has 18 gogo bars and 21 beer bar style bars. Not Walking Street, but enough choice for many.

South

• Walking Street. A famous punting street! A street of bars, Top-end agogos and nightclubs with live music near the beach at the southern end of the city. Also walk up Soi Diamond and Soi 15. Go gos: Moderate: Fahrenheit, Skyfall, Lighthouse, Chick. Top end Pin Up, XS, Sapphire (for hottest spinners) and Windmill 1 & 2 (for hands on). Also Baccara (Two floors), Peppermint, Airport,Iron Club (Good shows). Lots of touts. Most touristy, most expensive (can be 2+ times the price of Soi 6)- many expat punters avoid now. Worth a visit at least once...maybe only once. Also Sensations, and Sapphire.

Other areas

• Jomtien is the beach to the South. A bit more family. But still Pattaya so there is still more sex to be had than most RLD! Some Gents clubs here, such as CatFlaps.
• Darkside is the area to the East of highway 3. Cheap accommodation. There are some Gent's clubs here - laid back and good value. There is a small cluster on Khao Talo. Get a bolt or bike / scooter boy to take you, too far to walk.
• Soi Bong Koch is the far side of 3rd rd, but not as far as Darkside. You can walk from the end of Soi Pothole. Eight GC's here. Juicy Lucy, Club Sin, Club 007 and a five others. Good in the afternoon. These have a doorbell to press for entrance - don't let that put you off. Go for it.

Bars

• Myth Night Bar Complex
• Tree town - 50+ bars and restaraunts - not many gogos. Still, all the girls are available for take out!
• Las Vegas (opposite Soi Boomerang). About 10 bars in a shared open space with live music. Go to the back near the band - new punters tend to sit at the entrance and so it is harder to get a girl.
• Kink, as soon as you enter turn left and go up the stairs, don’t waste time downstairs. Soi LK Metro. Fully naked (fake) lesbian show.
• Heaven above. As full on as Kink.
• Angels. As soon as you go in, go up the stairs in the back. Full on.
• The Castle. A BDSM club.
• Tahaitan Queen on Beach Rd near Soi 13. 40 plus girls, decent music and not too loud. Reasonable prices.

Don'ts

• Russian bars on Walking Street. Avoid. 5 times the price. And no ST or LT. Aimed at rich Japanese or Arabs?
• Follow touts to a ping pong show. These will cost more than e.g. Windmill, with worse looking girls.

Hotels

Most UKP reviewer believe that all hotels (other than the big chains) are very punter friendly. These are some places mentioned in UKP threads:

• SeeMe Spring Too hotel on Soi 10 near beach. Next to SeeMe Spring and SeeMe Spring Tree. One, too, tree.

Soapies

These are more upmarket. Choose one of usually 30 to 60 girls from a 'fish bowl'. Then in a posh room upstairs, have body on body nuru, then full sex. Must try once.

• Honey1 (Soi Honey) (Is the street named after this place?). Honey2: Soi 3 Beach Road. Honey 3: south end of Soi Buakhao. All similar but Honey 3 biggest (8 story hotel) and glossiest (would fit-in in Vegas)
• Sabai Dees: Soi 2 Beach Road

Massage

There are hundreds and hundreds of massage places. Most offer happy ending and many offer full sex. The sexier the girls dress , the greater the chance. But just ask - they are used to it. Many call a massage with HE a 'Special massage'. For sex, ask for full 'boom boom'. But consider a manicure or pedicure too - why not? Punter wisdom is that Soi Honey and and Soi Pothole are the most certain locations for boom boom massage. Here are some named in recent UKP reviews.

• Get a hotel with a balcony. Thai girls all smoke. You want them outside for it.
• Only terrible wine is available in e.g. local 7/11. Find a wine shop. (e.g. Wine Connection, The Avenue, nr Robin Hood)

• Wat Phra Yai. Hilltop religious site with a 18 meter Buddha statue & a staircase flanked by huge dragons.
• Glass house restaurant. On the Beach in Jomtien.
• 25 degree burger bar. Restaurant on the beach in Jomtien.
• Ferry to the island (Ko Lan or sometimes called Ko Larn). 60 min trip: 30 baht. Only 4 km long yet has 8 beaches! (If you get the last ferry back at 5:30, you get a great sunset)
• Ladyboy cabaret show. Non punters go there from hotels. Look for 'Tiffany's Show Pattaya'

Cost

This is like trying to say what escorts cost in London. Impossible. Nonetheless, here is what some punters who have reviewed their trip in 2023 and 2024 report:

• Return Flight: cheapest (1 stop) £599, direct £749, Premium economy £2200
• Hotel: £50 to £100 / night. Cheaper/More expensive available of course - this is what punters on UKP normally pay.
• Girls: ST 1500-2000 Baht, LT 3500 Baht. Prices are all over, so assume bar fine is in these costs.
• Girls/day. Some punters try to increase their total 'girl spending' (including lady drinks and their beer) to a target of £240/day (10k baht/day) to make sure they don't 'waste' all the other costs. Aiming for a min spends prevent one being cheapo charlie.

Total for a week: £750 + £525 + £1600 = £3000. (rounding, clearly). Some spend double this, some much less.

No Alcohol Days

Other than elections, there are 5 'no alcohol days'. Even if you are not a drinker, this is annoying since girls bars etc are shut. Get some beers in advance and book a girl from TF! The days move around based on the lunar cycle. In 2026 Makha Bucha Day is 3rd March, Visakha Bucha Day is 1 May, Asahna Bucha Day is 29th July, Khao Phansa (start Buddhist lent) is 30th July, and Awk Phansa (end Buddhist lent) is 24th October.

And note Songkran in 2026 is 13-15 April, but in Pattaya more like 11th to 19th!
