Pattaya

Punting capital of the world?

Pattaya is a large beach city on Thailand’s eastern Gulf coast, about 100 km southeast of Bangkok. Once a fishing village, it’s now a city of resorts, condos, cabaret bars and 24-hour clubs. Nearby is the hillside Wat Phra Yai Temple with its 18-metre golden Buddha.

It is popular for escorts and nightlife on Walking Street and Soi 6. Other busy areas include Soi Boomerang, Soi LK Metro and Treetown. A taxi from Bangkok costs about 1,400 baht (£35). Pattaya is large — walking north to south takes 45 + minutes. The southern beach area is Jomtien.

Overview of Venues

Pattaya has perhaps 5,000 venues where you can meet girls for sex. They roughly divide into these groups:

Girl Bars

Bars with all-female staff, where you buy drinks and can take girls for short-term (ST) or long-term (LT). Some have rooms upstairs for ST — almost all on Soi 6 do. Many are open-air bars.

Go-Go Bars (Agogos)

Like girl bars, but indoors with pole dancing or exotic shows. Often 20 + girls dancing. Every girl you see is available; you can take girls to go-gos — some enjoy it.

Gentlemen’s Clubs

Laid-back daytime venues, typically with slightly older girls. Many have curtained or private areas for BJ or sex (≈ 1,200 baht), plus rooms upstairs. Look for closed doors (for privacy). Most are around Boomerang, Soi Pothole (Chaiyapoon), and Bong Koch; a few in Jomtien and the Darkside. GentsClubs.com lists around 70, though about 10 are owned by its creator.

Nightclubs

Full-on venues with locals, freelancers and bar girls after shifts. Notable spots: Marine, Lucifer, Insomnia, 808, Myst, Republic and The Pier — all on Walking Street.

Massage & Soapies

Hundreds of massage parlours; many offer “special massage” (happy ending or full sex). Soapies are upscale: pick a girl from a fishbowl, then enjoy full body-to-body service and sex upstairs. Popular names: Honey 1–3, Sabai Dees.

Street Walkers

Beach Road at night. Many are freelancers or girls whose shift has ended.

North Pattaya

  • Soi 7 & 8: Clusters of beer bars.

Central Pattaya

The main red-light zone with several adjacent streets:

  • LK Metro: Kink, Queen Club, Fcuk Bar, Paradise, Lady Love, Angels and more.
  • Soi Buakhao: Dozens of beer bars (Play Girlz, Red Hot and Blue GC).
  • Soi Honey (Soi 12): Massage and beer bars.
  • Soi Chaiyapoon (Soi Pothole): Maggie May (GC), Buzzin (GC), Excite, Backyard, Green Lantern, MILF Bar.
  • Soi Boomerang: Heaven Above, Club Fate (GC) and about ten more.
  • Treetown / Soi Made in Thailand: 50 + girl bars plus Myth Night Market.
  • Other spots include Soi 13.1.

South Pattaya / Walking Street

The famous strip of bars, go-gos and live music. Worth one visit, though prices can be double Soi 6. Go-Gos include: Fahrenheit, Skyfall, Lighthouse, Pin Up, XS, Sapphire, Windmill 1 & 2, Baccara, Peppermint, Airport, Iron Club, Sensations. Touts abound — avoid Russian bars and ping-pong shows.

Other Areas

  • Jomtien: Quieter beach area; still has GCs like CatFlaps.
  • Darkside: East of Highway 3 — relaxed GCs, lower prices.
  • Soi Bong Koch: Near 3rd Road; eight GCs (Juicy Lucy, Club Sin, 007 etc.). Press the doorbell to enter!
