Other than elections, there are 5 'no alcohol days'. Even if you are not a drinker, this is annoying since girls bars etc are may be shut. Get some beers in advance and book a girl from TF! To be fair, most bars in the central area of Pattaya are open - tourist exemption. But not 7-11 and Jomtien etc. The days move around based on the lunar cycle. In 2026 Makha Bucha Day is 3rd March, Visakha Bucha Day is 31 May, Asahna Bucha Day is 29th July, Khao Phansa (start Buddhist lent) is 30th July, and Awk Phansa (end Buddhist lent) is 24th October. In 2027 Makha Bucha Day is Sunday 21st Feb, Visakha Bucha Day is Friday, 21 May, Asahna Bucha Day is Sunday, 18 July, Khao Phansa (start Buddhist lent) is Tuesday, 20 July, and Awk Phansa (end Buddhist lent) is Friday, 15 October.
